He answered, “Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one”? (Matthew 19:4-5)
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is that Sacrament by which God seals a husband and wife in a sacred covenant, by which children are born, baptized, and thus added to the Body of Christ.
In accordance with diocesan directives, there is a six-month waiting period for all wedding ceremonies.
No wedding can be scheduled in the Parish Calendar without first having met in person with priest or deacon of the Regina Coeli Parish to ensure that marriage within the Church can indeed take place in the time period desired. It is always wise, therefore, to ensure your date in the Parish Calendar prior to confirming a date with your social hall or caterer.
After your meeting and your selection of a wedding date, you will be given a marriage packet. It will contain a letter of congratulations, a Wedding Guide, a list of upcoming pre-marriage classes, and directions to our churches.
