“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19)
Congratulations on your new addition and the upcoming Baptism! Baptism is only the beginning of your child’s relationship with the Lord and your journey as Christian parents. We are here to walk with you every step of the way, provide you with resources, and to pray with and for you so that your marriage and family can thrive.
Baptism is the first Sacrament of Christian Initiation, bringing the baptized individual into the family of God by washing away Original Sin, ushering us into divine life. It is the foundation for the sacramental life. Baptisms are usually celebrated on Sundays after the 11am Mass at Assumption, after the 9:30am Mass at Sacred Heart and after the 11:30am Mass at St. John Neumann at 1 pm. Parents are asked to attend a Baptismal Prep Class before scheduling the Baptism of their child. Classes are held on either the 2nd or 3rd Sunday each month at St. John Neumann and the 2nd Thursday of the month at Assumption Church. To schedule a class at Assumption please call the office at (412) 766-6660. To schedule for Sacred Heart please email Deacon Rick at [email protected]. To schedule classes at St. John Neumann please contact Lisa Rind at (412) 366-2020.
